- Airport Security Force (ASF)
The Airport Security Force (ASF) is part of the Ministry of Defence and is responsible
for protecting the airports and the facilities and the planes (on-ground or in-air).
ASF safeguards the civil aviation industry against unlawful interferences, adoptingcounter
terrorism measures, preventing crime and maintaining law and order within the limits
of Airports in Pakistan. The ASF was established in 1976 under the Airport Security
Force Act LXXVII of 1975 initially as the Directorate of the Department of Civil
Aviation. Following are the services of ASF.
- Ensuring security of all airports, aerodromes, aircraft and civil Aviation installations
and for safeguarding civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference or threats
of such interference;
- Ensuring security of all structures, equipments, material and installa¬tions belonging
to operators and other Government or nongovernment organizations within the limits
of airports and aerodromes;
- Ensuring the proper conduct of persons at airports and aerodromes a& laid down in
the Aircraft Rules, 1937, including control of surface vehicles and drivers within
the limits of airports and aerodromes;
- Ensuring security of aircraft passengers, baggage, cargo and mail within the limits
of airports and aerodromes;
- General maintenance of law and order within the limits of airports and aerodromes
in conjunction with the police and taking cognizance of all offences committed at
the airports and aerodromes under any law for the time being in force;
- Such other functions as the Federal Government may by notification in the official
Gazette, require the, Force to perform.

- Anti Narcotics Force (ANF)
The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) shall
- Inquire into, investigate and prosecute all offences relating to, or connected with,
preparation, production, manufacture, transportation, illicit trafficking or smuggling
of intoxicants, narcotics and chemical precursors or reagents used in the manufacture
of narcotics, or any offence committed in the course of the same transaction under
any law for the time being in force, including an attempt or conspiracy to commit,
or any offence committed in the course of the same transaction under any law for
the time being in force, including an attempt or conspiracy to commit, or any abetment
of, any such offence, or any offence committed under the Control of Narcotics Substances
Ordinance, 1996 (XCIV of 1996), or the Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order,
1979 (P.O. 4 of 1979),
- Trace and freeze the assets;
- Provide assistance and advice to other enforcement agencies on all matters in the
field of narcotics and to collect information from all national and international
enforcement agencies about illicit narcotic traffic and traffickers;
- Maintain liaison with all national or international narcotics authorities, organizations,
bodies, associations and societies and represent Pakistan in such conferences, seminars
and workshops arranged by any such organization or narcotics related matters
- Arrange and co-ordinate training of own staff and members of other enforcement agencies
in various aspects of narcotics enforcement;
- Co-ordinate the project and schemes for elimination and destruction of poppy cultivation;
- Perform any other related functions which may be assigned to it by the Federal Government.

- Pakistan Customs
Pakistan Customs is the guardian of Pakistan borders against movement of contra band goods and is facilitator of bona fide trade. It provides a major source of revenue to the Government of Pakistan in the form of taxes levied on the goods traded across the borders. It also helps to protect the domestic industry, discourage consumptions of luxury goods and stimulate development in the under -developed areas.
